BLINK Cincinnati 2024: The Ultimate Guide to the Nation’s Boldest Light Festival
The Queen City is glowing again. Literally.
BLINK Cincinnati 2024 returns to bathe the city in luminous wonder with its largest and most ambitious experience yet. What began as a local experiment in light and community has evolved into the nation’s largest public art and light festival, attracting over a million attendees, international artists, and immersive installations unlike anything you've ever seen.
Set across 40 city blocks from Findlay Market through downtown Cincinnati and across the river into Northern Kentucky, this four-night biennial festival blends projection mapping, interactive art, murals, music, and yes—laser bridges—into one mind-bending celebration of creativity and connection.
Whether you're a seasoned BLINK aficionado or a first-time explorer, here’s your complete guide to BLINK Cincinnati 2024.
What is BLINK Cincinnati?
BLINK is not your average art show.
It’s a free, citywide, multi-sensory playground, transforming the Cincinnati metro into a dreamscape of light, sound, color, and creativity. It’s where world-renowned projection artists meet local creatives, where historic buildings pulse with digital life, and where ordinary streets become luminous passageways.
Launched in 2017, BLINK was born from the minds behind Lumenosity and powered by local visionaries and philanthropists. With attendance skyrocketing in its inaugural year, BLINK now holds firm as a bucket-list cultural event in the U.S.

BLINK 2024 Highlights You Can’t Miss
🌉 The Laser Bridge (Yes, Really)
Picture this: a 250-foot-wide bridge made entirely of lasers, connecting Kentucky to Ohio in a glowing arc of futuristic brilliance. This cross-river installation is as symbolic as it is stunning—a tribute to the unity of Cincinnati and its neighboring river cities.
🎭 Music Hall Projection Mapping
Back where it all began, Music Hall gets a majestic makeover. With help from Europe’s top projection artists, the building’s intricate facade will morph, twist, and pulsate in sync with bespoke soundscapes. If you saw Lumenocity, you haven’t seen anything yet.
🚀 Neil Armstrong Mural Comes Alive
On Walnut Street, one of BLINK’s most ambitious tech integrations yet will animate the existing Neil Armstrong mural using cutting-edge projection mapping. Expect stunning visuals that honor both space and imagination.
🌳 Crescendo at Lytle Park
Need a breather from the sensory overload? Step into Crescendo, an intimate light and sound installation under a tree in Lytle Park. A piano sits beneath, reactive lights flicker with every note. Think open mic meets ambient art therapy.
✨ Drone Shows Over the River
Every night at 8 PM and 10 PM, look up. BLINK’s signature drone show returns with a fleet three times the size of 2022’s—aerial choreography lit with intention, synchronized to sound, and best viewed from the riverfront.
🎉 BLINK Parade & Afterglow Party
Opening Parade: The only nighttime parade in the region, this high-energy kickoff is not to be missed.
Afterglow Party: A brand-new addition—this official BLINK afterparty at MegaCorp Pavilion features late-night beats from Austin Millz and more.
Meet the Minds Behind BLINK
🎨 Andrew Salzbrun – Co-Founder & Creative Director
Andrew is one of the original architects of the BLINK vision. His mission? To elevate Cincinnati from “10 years behind” to future-forward city status.
“We want BLINK to change the way people think about what this region can become.”
BLINK isn’t just art—it’s economic development, civic pride, and cultural aspiration fused into one awe-inspiring event.
🔧 Evan Verrilli – Featured Local Artist
New to the large-scale art scene, Evan Verrilli is one of this year’s local success stories. His installation, The Cathedral, transforms Oneida Alley with a ladder of red light that plays with perspective and emotion.
“It starts high like a church steeple, so you look up and feel small. As you walk through, the lights descend until you’re surrounded. Then you exit—and see the world differently.”
Art doesn’t just beautify. It changes you.
Insider Tips for Experiencing BLINK Like a Pro
1. Don’t Try to Do It All in One Night
With over 140 installations across 6 districts, BLINK is impossible to fully consume in a single night. Give yourself grace. Focus on one or two zones per night.
2. Arrive Early
Parking and traffic get wild by 7 PM. Come in the afternoon, enjoy lunch, and explore at ease before the lights go on.
3. Bring the Kids—But Manage Expectations
Yes, it’s family-friendly. But it’s late. Plan for late bedtimes, pack snacks, and pick lower-density zones like Lytle Park or Covington for younger ones.
4. Download the BLINK App
Navigate installations, schedules, and food stops with ease. You can also save favorites and continue to engage post-event.
5. Wear Comfy Shoes & Layers
You'll be walking a lot. Cincinnati weather can shift fast in October. Comfort is king.
Why BLINK Matters
BLINK is more than a spectacle. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when a city dreams big—when creatives are empowered, and when public spaces become places of awe and connection.
It’s also a massive economic driver, bringing millions in tourism revenue and putting Cincinnati in the global spotlight.
And perhaps most importantly: It’s free.
Accessible. Inclusive. Open to all.
Final Thoughts: Don’t Just See BLINK—Feel It
BLINK is art without velvet ropes. Music without tickets. Innovation without boundaries. It's your city like you’ve never seen it, and whether you're exploring with friends, on a date, or wandering solo, it's a chance to step into wonder.
So mark your calendar. Charge your phone. Invite someone you love. And let Cincinnati show you what happens when light leads the way.
